Winter Sun captures a peaceful moment in the Victorian High Country where I used to live. This mare and foal grazed in the property across the river from me, and the quality of the light and shadow drew me to photograph them and then, ten years later to interpret the scene into a pastel painting. I have utilised my memories of the soft muted colours of the mountains and the Australian bush and I’m so happy with the light bouncing off of the horses.
Size is A2 (594 x 420mm) with a 50mm white border.
