The Promise of a New Day is an award winning original soft pastel painting completed for the Mandurah 9x5 Art Prize. The theme for the exhibition was "Atmosphere", and this painting was Inspired by a trip to the Churchill Island Working Horse Festival many years ago with my Clydesdale mare Misty. We awoke pre-dawn to find the horses had escaped their pen, only to find them peacefully grazing overlooking the water as the sun rose.
