Small birds, and fairy wrens in particular, have brought such joy to my life. Walking and being outdoors in the natural world grounds me and these little characters always seem to be flitting about and making me smile. They frequent the wetlands and scrub around my home in Western Australia and my previous home in the mountains of East Gippsland, Victoria. In these paintings I tried to capture their cheeky little personalities.
